HOW EACH LESSON WORKS

Your child studies the title and picture, makes a prediction, listens as you read the passage aloud, and then completes a one-minute cold read.

Day 2: Vocabulary Builder
Your child rereads the passage with a focus on accuracy and smoothness. Then your child learns and practices an important word from the passage.

Day 3: Check the Prediction
Your child rereads with a focus on accuracy and expression, then checks whether the original prediction matched the passage.

Day 4: Understand & Prove It
Your child answers comprehension questions from memory, then looks back at the passage to find the sentence that supports each answer.

Day 5: Final Read & Reflect
Your child completes a final timed read, compares the results with the first read, and reflects on what was learned.

READING LEVEL
These passages are best suited to older struggling readers working in the later portion of Level 2 phonics or readers who can receive support with unfamiliar words.
